Hey guys, I just got home then. Have been busy since friday night.
Did you guys end up getting much done on saturday? we still have quite alot to go and its due really quite soon. I'm just about to start writing up a proper style guide for the use of our logo that we can give to the clients/teachers.
Other than that there's actually a lot of writing to be done for the group document including:
LOGO
design brief+Original Design Rational
competitive set
early work and client feedback / improvements
final rational
POSTERS
design brief
competitive set + research
rational of ciggy ball and concept
Im probably missing some things but thats what we need ONTOP of the finished posters, so maybe we should start delegating tasks to be done by tuesday or so.
Like i said before im working on a logo style guide now but can work on some of the competitive set and rational for the poster design, although moose and todd should have some stuff for that
i would rather meet & get the work done.. & get feed back & such. plus i took 275 yesterday & today... i think we might be able to use a few of them.
ReplyDeleteI remember the client and jo saying that we might have too many elements in our ads... i am starting to agree with them.
i think that if it will work, maybe we should cut out the hanging person in the ad... what i was hoping would still work is if we use the cut out person & then photoshop the ball & chain in (attached to the cut out person). i think that this way we can even make the ad full bleed, with maybe a small border on the bottom for the logo or something... we could play around with stuff tomorrow.
i still feel like bill & i have done a lot of the work, and i don't wanna sound mean or like a b*tch, but i was thinking that moose and todd could work on a lot of the group document.. and that we could meet up and put it all together.. and idk. i just really think that we should meet.
monday works for me... any time. (but whatever time we decide, i think we should all be on time... so if people can't make it earlier, then we can make it later, or vice versa)
what time works for everyone else????
wha do you mean use the cut out person with the ball and chain?

where can we meet up tomorrow? we need someplace with lots of computers so we can all be working, and somewhere that isn't out of the way for everyone. The uni's definitely closed and i would suggest my house but that's in thirroul.

ReplyDeleteIf thats the case we need to allocate some tasks to be completed by each member, looking from the list i wrote at the top, if everyone picks say two things (theres lots of writing to be done) and does them tomorrow we might have a chance of finishing this.
I've done the style guide, and I'll also write up a rational behind our poster concept, I can also do a return brief for it.
we also need to finish the actual posters!!
however if we get all the writing done by tomorrow we can finalise the posters if we meet up on tuesday, we really need to get this done quickly though because its still got to be printed out. Its also a shame that we probably wont get another round of client feedback.
Other than that can everyone CHECK THE BLOG REGULARLY
I already done some comp set, i will put that in formal format, hopefully i can find the indesign file from our first group work.

ReplyDelete8 sounds good. Sorry i havn't been checking the blog, that's mainly because my phone is dead and I only just woke up. I had a pretty hectic weekend.
ReplyDeleteJudging from previous group meet ups I think it might be better to get all of this theory and write up stuff out of the way while we can at home, as well as do work on the posters, then we can collaborate everything tomorrow in one mad rush.
We defiantly need to meet up early and work all day though.

i think it will work if we just have a cut out person, with the ball & chain attached to the white dotted outlined cutout... (if possible)
cause realistically, i don't think we are gonna get to make the hanging person look right with the amount of time we have & the lack of people to get it to work, plus.. we kind of would have a lot going on in the ad...

"don't let cigarettes drag you away [from what you love]"
or something... i know that its kinda long up it incorporated "drag" & sorta the being taken out of the picture/ taken away from something/someone they love....
yeah ok, that could work. Although that might mean we need to take new photos with the ball actually attached. I've been having alot of trouble with the hanging people taking up waaaaay too much room vertically. As the original idea was to have a cut out, it doesn't really work with the white space.

ReplyDeleteHonestly i think the tagline can change to suit the context of the image. The central aspect of our campaign isn't the 'snappy tagline' but rather the ball and chain and the similar meaning
